BMC air filters (used by Ferrari F1) are made of cotton and aluminum treated with epossidic resin.
These filters are different from original ones, first of all because using a cleaning kit they can be restored, then because they let flow an 40% of air more than the original ones.
Race version lets flow an 15% of air more than the BMC "normal" version: for this reason use it only on truck and/or together with engine tuning as carburetor kit or ECU kit.
Sometimes they could be more expensive than the original ones, but the initial cost will be optimized by their unlimited lifetime.
