DISC:

For 2007, Braking-Sunstar has a new Wave disc range for street and racing applications called “SK”.

The new disc has the following characteristics:
• external diameter 300mm, 310mm or 320mm
• carrier made of aluminium league
• Wave evolution profile with precise direction of rotation
• Standard fitment for the most popular SBK bikes on the market starting from model years 2004.

Braking-Sunstar has invested a lot of time to develop this new product in order to increase the performance of the Wave street discs (STX series) following the updates of the last generation sport bikes.

This new disc series has been developed after one year inside a program of tests with world championship Superbike and Supersport team. The profile has been changed several times after test, practices and races to find the best solution. Starting from our standard Wave STX disc we have studied this new profile to satisfy the needs of our Superbike and Supersport riders. During the 2006 SBK season we have supported the riders with the aid of telemetry, in order to obtain the best results in power, feeling and constancy of the performance during races.

Advantages:
• Performance: fast reaction and best feeling on the lever in every condition
• Resistance to the high temperatures: the direction of rotation of the track profile
(left side and right side disc) permit a great ventilation improvement
• Weight: it is a light disc because of the low track, studied in combination only
with few pads, the pads of the last generation radial caliper that have a low
surface of friction. Light disc means that the unsprung mass are reduced with
benefit for gyroscopic effect

PADS:

All Braking brake pads are asbestos and nickel free
Braking uses an organic base material for outstanding friction along with a soft, non-aggressive metal that allows the pad to glide on the disc, providing better control
All Braking brake pads are compatible with cast iron, stainless steel and Carbiron materials and, when used with Braking rotors, provide the greatest control and braking power available
CM55 sportbike pads are a sintered mixture designed to give power and longevity
CM55 pads offer strong power, stability and improved brake modulation and feel
These pads work best in excess of 1300° degrees without fading
